Richmond Birdwing Conservation Network
The Richmond Birdwing Butterfly (Ornithoptera richmondia) is one of the largest butterflies to be found in South East Queensland. This site gives an insight into the problems facing this invertebrate and what can and is being done to restore its habitat.

Established in 1975, The Toowoomba Bird Observers provide a means for local birdwatchers to share birding experiences through their outings and through their monthly newsletter. In doing this, they contribute to the knowledge of our Australian birds and that surely will always be a good thing!

Frankes scrub blog
A council road reserve protected by legislation which prevents clearing of road reserves. It is a length of deep creek bed with a diverse flora of old-growth dry rainforest trees and shrubs including the threatened Tarenna tree Tarenna cameronii and uncommon Orangebark tree Maytenus disperma.
Euphorbiaceae and Sapindaceae dominate the vegetation.
As a good remnant of the dry rainforest scrub which covered a lot of this area before closer settlement, Crows Nest Council received Natural Heritage Trust funding for its protection in 2006.
