Robert Campbell of Toowoomba Regional Council will speak about how Peacehaven Botanic Park has become the beautiful place it is today through collaboration between council and community, and future directions.
Robert is TRC Coordinator Parks Operations North and has been involved with Peacehaven since its origin. In 2005, then working for the Crows Nest Shire Council, he was appointed supervisor of the project to create the park. He was on the initial steering committee of the Friends of Peacehaven Botanic Park from its formation in 2006. And he was instrumental in the decision to make the park a showcase for native flora, especially locally occurs plants, in contrast with the focus on exotics in the Toowoomba parks.
Robert’s work continues, as he oversees decisions regarding plantings, maintenance and enhancements to the park and looks to the future.
