Landholder workshop 9 May

Landholder workshop 9 May

All interested persons are invited to an upcoming Backing onto Bush workshop being run by the Qld Fire & Biodiversity Consortium on 9 May from 9:00am to 1:00pm. This event will be held at the Toowoomba Regional Council Perseverance Office (820 Perseverance Road, Crows Nest, 4355).

This half-day workshop is for peri-urban and rural residential landholders to understand fire ecology and how fire supports healthy bushland. It is delivered as the next step in property fire management planning and suits landholders interested in using fire as a management tool, whether or not you already have a property fire management plan.

The session will help you:

  • Identify vegetation types and habitat
  • Learn about healthy fire and fire history
  • Understand how fuels affect bushfire risk
  • Know the regulations for your area
