Residents throughout Australia are invited to join in this year’s Keep Australia Beautiful (KAB) week, 5 – 11 August, 2024.
Keep Australia Beautiful Week is an annual event that helps to raise awareness of the little things that we can do to reduce our impact on the environment. It mainly focuses on reducing litter and waste, and encouraging reusing and recycling.
The aim of this event is in the name: keeping Australia beautiful! By making an effort to look after the environment, stopping litter and reducing your carbon footprint, you’ll be actively helping to keep Australia beautiful.
The 2024 theme is “When you’re out and about, leave only your footprints”.
People can join existing programs, create new groups for clean-ups or fundraisers, or Adopt a Patch – a corporate volunteer initiative to help keep local areas clean. KAB’s website contains a wealth of resources including:
- Community Programs;
- Campaigns;
- Education;
- Research;
- Consulting services;
- Celebrating achievements; and
- Corporate volunteer programs
This is an inclusive event for families, communities, schools, businesses and organisations to help preserve Australia’s unique country and protect bio-diversity.
