Distribution
Endemic to Australia, occurs in eastern Queensland and southwards as far as north-eastern New South Wales. Grows in disturbed areas particularly burnt areas of monsoon forest and vine thickets (1).
Description
It is a medium-sized tree with soft, pendent leaves and a pioneer plant after fire events. Female trees produce attractive bell-shaped fruits, Spring to Summer. Bark on lower trunk is usually corky but the upper bark is smooth (2).
