Care and maintenance
During the last four months volunteers have continued with regular watering, weeding and mulching. Planting Day – a huge success!
Machinery was used to cultivate the soil to a depth of 30cm and a layer of 10cm of compost was incorporated into the soil. The process aims to simulate the ground level of a forest ecosystem. Site preparation
In preparation for the planting, we need to remove the grass on this site. This has been done by a herbicide spray undertaken by a Friends of the Escarpment Parks volunteer.
