Jerry Coleby-Williams, HOPE’s Patron since 2007, will host the twenty-first and final annual Bellis Open Day at his house and garden in Wynnum, Queensland.
Over more than two decades, Bellis has become a powerful example of sustainable living in practice. The garden features over 500 climate-appropriate plants for food, medicine, biodiversity, and resilience, demonstrating how households can reduce their ecological footprint while creating productive and healthy environments.
This final open day is a special opportunity to experience Bellis firsthand, learn from Jerry’s work, and gain practical ideas for climate-ready gardening and sustainable living.
The weekend also coincides with Mother’s Day, providing a lovely opportunity to celebrate while discovering this unique suburban model in action, with surplus plants and locally adapted seeds available for sale.
